Maureen and Ren

I had the pleasure to share a couple of very special days with Maureen and Ren this past Thursday and Friday. On Thursday they had an intimate gathering of friends at Del Frisco's to celebrate Ren's birthday. Maureen, with the help of Mares Video and me :-), had a couple of special surprises for the birthday boy. Although this was the first time I had the opportunity to meet Ren, I felt that I knew him from pouring over a bunch of pictures of him growing up in preparing the "This is your Life" book that Maureen presented to him. Once I selected the images to scan and prepare for the album, I turned them over to Lisa Mares who assembled a very touching video presentation that had Ren and his family wiping away tears.

Ren, the karate kid!

Friday was wedding day! The intimate ceremony was held at their home in Cherry Hills Village. Design Works did their usual impeccable job in designing the decor for the event. Epicurean Catering handled the h'orderves, and the whole day was masterfully planned and coordinated by Tara Wolfe of W Designs.

Another reason the wedding day was special, was because I had the honor of having my very good friend John Unrue photograph with me and Krista. John is based in Orlando, and is one of the most highly regarded photographers in the country. His list of celebrity, athlete, and Fortune 500 clients is impressive, yet he is one of the most humble people I've had the pleasure of knowing. I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding with him at the Ritz in Orlando earlier this year, and he was anxious to have a chance to photograph a wedding in Colorado.

While I was photographing the beautiful bride on the deck outside the bedroom,

John photographed Maureen from below.

I love this hi-key portrait of Maureen with the flowers in her hair.

Krista captured this image of Maureen heading down to the ceremony.

Ren taking a moment to relax before the ceremony.

The ceremony was set up with seating for 20 or so both inside and outside with Maureen and Ren in the doorway so each side would have an intimate view of the proceedings.

The ever observant Krista caught this cute picture of a couple of the younger guests.

John brought along his Leica M8 and took some dramatic infrared pictures of the days events, including this one of Maureen and Ren arriving at the Denver Country Club where the reception was held.

Jakarta had everyone on their feet dancing the whole evening.

It was a great evening!
