Allison, Dan, Grady, and Audrey

Just about a month ago I received an email from Allison and Dan, whose wedding I photographed in 2002. They were letting me know that they had moved back to Denver from San Francisco, and had two children Grady and new arrival, Audrey. One of the little bennies I offer my clients is a complimentary family session when they start their family. It ewas great to hear from them, and it was even better to have the opportunity to photograph their growing family. Their wedding was at Perry Park Country Club in Palmer Lake, Colorado. As you can see from the photo of their ceremony it is a beautiful location for a wedding. They had a fabulous wedding too!
If I remember correctly, Full House played at the reception and tore it up! Allison and Dan really cut the rug that night.
Here are a few of the images from the session.

My best friend since we were in junior high, Tom Terrell, passed away this morning after battling prostate cancer for the last year and a half or so. Tom was a highly regarded music journalist whose articles appeared in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, JazzTimes, among others, and was a featured commentator on NPR. I'm going to do a full blog entry on my best buddy soon, but I wanted to mention his passing today and say I'll miss him and God Bless his soul.

Rebecca and Richard

A few months ago, my friend and fellow photographer Dawn Sparks called to inform me that she was expecting. She and her husband Noy have two beautiful daughters that I have had the pleasure to photograph. This time they were expecting a boy and he was due to arrive on November 3, the same day she had a wedding scheduled. She asked me if I was open and could cover it for her, and of course I did.

Rebecca and Richard were totally understanding, and we had the chance to meet a couple of days before their wedding. What an easy going and great couple! Their wedding ceremony was at the St Elizabeth's of Hungary Catholic church on the Auraria campus, a church I have photographed in several times. We had a bit of time before their reception began at the Magnolia Hotel Ballroom, so we all piled in the limo and took some photographs around downtown Denver.

Rebecca, pretty as a picture,
and her husband to be within an hour or so, Richard.

A dance on 17th Street to end the evening!

This just in.... Julian Taylor Sparks made his way into the world on Thursday November 1st at 10:41 pm , weighing 8lbs 3 oz. He's healthy and beautiful according to his mom! Congratulations to Dawn, her husband Noy, and Julian's big sisters!
